This case only denotes "something" if Chauvin won. Chauvin was dramatically guilty. It's like saying instead of giving the guy a ticket I punted his dog. It's so disproportional to what was necessary there is no real defense. A radically guilty man was convicted makes no larger point. Not one. Boundaries were already established in the random cop that gets arrested here or there. The year with the most pernicious cases of cops not getting charged for crimes - there was still a few. Chauvin fits within the few.

Meaning despite the celebration, not abnormal has happened. 1% of cops get prosecuted- Chauvin fits in the statistical one. Nothing structurally has changed in your world, economy, culture, society as a whole, communities - why would a singular case be indicative of anything when the systemic factors that allow and incentivize pernicious behavior hasn't been touched and barely mentioned. Chauvin is the bad apple hypothesis allowing the media to triumphantly use the single prosecution and video of black people break dancing and spinning on their lips in the street at the conviction to demonstrate success of the American system. Evidence, dare one say proof of how exceptional America is. More like how far media has fallen.

It's not a bad apple, the batch is rotten. And despite the batch being rotten, the rampant policy failures with democrats using desperate people in dilapidated communities as props for votes while giving rhetorical support knowing the racism in the republican party disallows association .

Biden did as much as any one person to drill mean spirited racist bile into our criminal justice system.
