Snow Peas and Bad Kitty

Although we only had about 15 snow pea plants that survived, I picked about a pint of pods--enough to use in stir-fry. The elderberries are so tall this year that Stan put a stepladder out next to them so that he can capture Japanese beetles that eat the blossoms.

As far as the bad kitty...the wild black kitten, Phantom, dug up the spot in my herb garden where I had just planted fennel! Good thing I didn't plant all my fennel in one spot. Four spots, actually. None of it has sprouted yet, though...
