Gardening means: Bug Wars!

July 1st...right on time for this year's bug wars. Grasshopper nymphs are the worst because they are so mobile that they are hard to kill. Corn silk bugs are easily handled...then there are cucumber beetles and cabbage loopers. The Japanese beetles have trickled in...Stan has started his beetle rounds: cool whip container of dish detergent water, flick the beetles into the soapy water. It's a talent...one I don't care to develop.

The blueberry wars are contra the thieving robins! Much harder to pick berries with the netting in the way but no choice!
