MAKING A BRASS KNUCKLE FROM SCRAP / SANDCASTING / #devilforge / #meltingbrass / #backyardmelting

Hello everyone 👋🏻.

This week I’ve melted brass scrap and made an ingot and a brass knuckle. I’ve wanted to make a brass knuckle for a long time and I’ve finally made one😁.

It wasn’t easy😔. I’ve got troubles with getting the mold out off the sand, the sand broke off after getting the mold out..

So I’ve made the mold out of wood. Sprayed it a couple of times with primer and sanded it. I’ve put a little angle to the knuckle (so it supposed to be easier to remove). Tried different approaches with the sand. And finaly I got it almost perfect, then I did a pourly job with the spruw and drag and messed it all up😒..

But I’ve tried it one more time and it worked. I have to say, the wooden mold was quite thick, so next time, I’ll make it less thick😉.

I’ve spend quite some time on sanding the inside of the “handle” but I’m happy with it 😉.
