Since the Saint Louis County Court refuses to let media in to see what they are up to, we rely on insiders to leak information. So far, the insiders are willing and able. Tune into Judge Bruce Hilton's courtroom where Elaine Pudlowski is the GAL for the child and Hilton expresses skepticism about homeschool and grills mom's attorney about an 11-year-old's finicky eating habits. Meanwhile, dad is a convicted child abuser with no known address who is asking for full custody and Judge Hilton doesn't laugh him out of the courtroom. Why? What is wrong with these people?

Another notable moment: Elaine Pudlowski casually says the child may be self-harming but treats it like no big deal. Maybe we should be glad for that because she usually wants to give full custody to the abusive parent but doesn't seem so hot on convict dad in this one. We can be thankful for small miracles.
