Having control over your air stream is “where it’s at” to get a good tone. This control will help you to shape a phrase with the color and dynamic that you want in your sound. When we do not control every drop of air that comes out, then we are not in complete control of our sound.

One of the technical aspects that separates the amateur from the professional is their control over their air stream and thus their control of their tone. In other words, tonal control is a direct result of air stream control. How do you control your air stream? Support!
