Fear

Fear activates our fight or flight response, which creates inflammation and tension inside of the body and puts the mind on high alert. It makes us act impulsively based on our emotions in order to try to quickly leave the situation. Fear stops us from being who it is we want to be, it keeps us from taking risks in order to keep us safe. As humans we need to be able to challenge ourselves, and to take risks because that is the only way we grow into strong, competent parts of society. When we finally do stop and face our fears most of the time we realize that the scary mountain that we've been avoiding is just a silly ant hill that we can simply step over.
