An entire hockey squad turned up to support their teammate on his first day of chemotherapy - after he was diagnosed with cancer on his birthday.

Luke Davison, now 26, received the devastating news that he was ill with stage 3 Hodgkin’s Lymphoma in March last year.

The All-American collegiate hockey player at St Norbert College, had been fit and healthy his whole life and was taken aback by his shock diagnosis.

Luke was diagnosed on his 25th birthday and then referred by doctors for several rounds of treatment to tackle the cancer.

And the keen sportsman was forced to miss his senior year season to undergo chemo - but his Wisconsin teammates were determined to support him on his difficult journey.

In touching video, the team can be seen lined up outside the Aurora Baycare Medical Hospital as Luke arrives.

His pals are holding up banners and signs with heartfelt messages that stress he is not alone in his fight against cancer.

An emotional Luke then walks to the entrance of the hospital, embracing members of the team as he goes.

Thankfully, his treatment was successful and he entered remission in October 2021.

His family were overwhelmed by the outpouring of support after his diagnosis and set up a GoFundMe for Luke - which exceeded $30,000.
