Fees In Fixed Annuities. My take & opinion on fees for rates & when fee based riders can make sense.

Fees In Fixed Annuities.
During the majority of my career fixed annuity I was able to say, there are no fees in fixed annuities. Specifically fees that could reduce an accumulation value. This is not true anymore. Carriers are now actively building fixed annuities with all sort of area additional fees can be added or are required.
My take & opinion on charging a fee for increased index cap rates and when fee based riders can really make sense.
Why is a fee being paid?
What is the likelihood the benefit provided by the fee be used?
Is a non-fee option available?
