It seems like we are caught up with two endeavours in life... one of seeking "ascension" unto a higher spiritual state and the other of "descending" into a lower state often referred to as humility.
I am wondering if the truth might actually be found in the middle, where we neither seek to perpetually "ascend" (superiority) nor "descend" (inferiority) and simply become content within our own skin, accepting ourselves for who we are? I still hear God's voice in the garden saying, "Who told you that you were naked?"
More and more, I am becoming convinced that the "restlessness" (discontent) of perpetually seeking for a higher manifestation stems from the fact that we have been conditioned to believe that our human state of being somehow is undesirable and always needs to be covered over by someone else's "blood" (life) or identity (Jesus Christ) to be of any value. I don't know about you, but something inside of me is trying to tell me that this is wrong.
I am coming more into peace (rest) with accepting that I was purposely created to be uniquely "me", that I haven't been a mistake (or God somehow made a mistake) in allowing me to come here into this earth experience. And that I don't have to hide (diminish) my own soul spark in perpetual inferiority, living in the shadow of Jesus. That is a Jesus that religion created. The true Jesus revealed that we all share the same glory of the Father. John 17:21
I am supposed to be ME... have this life experience as ME... realising that Divine Source (Christ) is the energy that powers me, but still allows me to fully be that individual star uniquely expressing that source energy.
We don't need to sweep the stars out of the night skies to make sure the Sun gets to shine in it's brilliant glory... there is a place and time for everything and everyone in God's universe.
