Really Russia is afraid of the small country of Finland joining NATO.
Finland is an EU member and not one of Russia's friends for decades. Finnish NATO membership is not recommended at all for Putin & Friends. We may not be able to start World War 3, but we can sure make journalists' life as miserable as possible in Finland.
