Bent Pushrod, Is GM engineering to blame?

GM V8 vehicles are bending pushrods. Why do they bend a pushrod and whats the solution? I think I have the answer to both of these questions. This issue will sound just like a lifter tick. It will have the same symptom as a collapsed lifter as well making an engine knock sound in many cases.
