Good Friday, Easter, and the Extraordinary Gospel

During a sermon a few weeks ago my friend Mark Mason made the point that the Gospel should never become ordinary to you. Easter is my favorite holiday for that very reason – because God’s love for us is so extraordinary that He made the ultimate sacrifice to cleanse us of our sins.

2 Corinthians 5:21 – For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.

Jesus came to Earth, lived a perfect life, and died a death that He did not deserve so that we may have an intimate relationship with God. Getting to Heaven is great, but that close relationship with God is the reward. It has changed my life for the better.
