What are the Environmental, Social, Governance (ESG) Criteria? | Profits are not all financial

What does ESG mean to you & me? After giving some of my thoughts about the Environmental, Social, Governance movement(?) I read the definition of the criteria from Investopedia. This critter is increasingly defining the investing field which then has an effect on which companies & businesses succeed & what service they choose to provide.
