Clip from Father's Day Sunday Service, June 20, 2010: Jesse Lee Peterson asks people if fathers turn children away from mothers the way mothers do fathers. One lady gives an example, but she did the same early on; she'd experienced DV early on, she says. But she thought she had nowhere else to go, but she really stayed because of a love-hate relationship addiction. She never knew her father, and first met him as a stranger.

The light comes through the man; a child is fulfilled by a father's love. A man loves his wife as Christ loves the church. You cannot love God if you hate your father.

Jesse explains that you should not hate either parent, but honor them. But some people are comfortable hating; so if you love to hate, then it's better to hate the mother and not the father. Then you have a chance.
