Block & Company is proud to be an annual sponsor of the Regnier Venture Creation Challenge at UMKC's Bloch School of Management. UMKC’s Regnier Institute hosted the annual Regnier Venture Creation Challenge (RVCC) at the end of the 2022 Spring semester.

The RVCC is a business plan and pitch competition for new startups. This year’s competition will award $93,000 in prizes. The James and Rae Block Kansas City Startup Awards Program contributed $25,000 to the first and second place finalists in the competition. The financial contributions were made possible by David M. Block, President of Block & Company, Inc. along with his two sisters, Candace Block and Cynthia Kosoglad .

Other generous contributions of the startup competition were made possible by Russ Cline, Bob Regnier and the Regnier Family Foundations, and Blue Cross Blue Shield of Kansas City

This year’s competition featured 3 tracks including a new one for the Kansas City startup community. In total, there were a stunning 73 applicants this year, representing 14 different schools and organizations spanning a four-state region.
