RULES:
The object of the game is for your team to get the most points. Download the Pictionary air app on your smartphone or tablet and launch it and follow the onscreen instructions. Hit play then configure the settings for your game.
Turn on the pen so the tip glows red. Divide into two teams. Pick a team to go first then turns alternate. On your teams turn, you pick 1 player to be the person who draws called the picturist. Set the box of cards near the picturist and give them the pen. The picturist takes a card from the box and secretely looks at the words. There are 5 clues on each card that the picturist is trying to get their team to guess by drawing clues in the air.
To draw, one person hold the smart device with the camera pointing at the picturist so the picturist cannot see the screen. If you use the option to cast the image to a TV, then the picturist isn’t allowed to look at the TV. When the picturist says they are ready, tap the “start timer” and the round begins. The picturist points the colored end of the pen towards the camera and presses and holds down the button on the pen so the tip changes to green. Now wherever the picturist moves the tip of the pen, it will draw on the screen. To stop drawing, let go of the button so it changes red. You can press and release the button to draw as many times as you like. Before you bingin drawing you are allowed to draw a box in the air to get an idea of the size of your canvas.
There are 5 clues on each card that you may draw in any order. The bottom clue on the card is harder and worth 2 points while the first 4 clues are each worth 1 point. You only get 1 card per turn and cannot draw another card even if all 5 clues have been guessed. The cards are double-sided, but you may only play the side you drew, the other side is for when you finish the deck, so you can play again with more options.
When a clue is guessed by one of your teammates, announce it and the person holding the device taps the score button accordingly. If the picturist wants to restart their sketch they say “clear” then the device holder clears the image by pressing the button. The picturist is allowed to interact with their sketch, but this is not charades, they may only interact with what they have drawn and nothing else.
You are not allowed to use letters or numbers, but you can use symbols. You cannot use ears for sounds like or dashes to show how long a word is, but you can show syllables. You may not use sign language or talk.
Once the time runs out, then the picturist stops and the next team draws a card and begins. After the final round of play, the team with the most points wins!
