Solution:

Counter twist the horseshoes, pulling slightly down on them so a V is created. Slide the ring into the V then push the bottom ends of the horseshoes through the ring so that the ring slides down and the horseshoes overlap. Then slide the ring off the end. To put the ring back on the horseshoe puzzle, fold the horseshoes so they overlap. Slide the ring down one side to the bottom. Grab the two horseshoes at opposing ends and pull away from each other and up, then twist.
