Redistricting Lessons Learned: A Parent's Recommendations for Clear Creek ISD

School boundary redistricting is a complicated process, and when the outcome means children must change schools, that can affect the trajectory of a child's entire education. In past redistricting cycles, Clear Creek ISD has prioritized its own needs ahead of those of its students, and its Board of Trustees has done little to ensure the process benefits students and parents.

In this video, CCISD Board of Trustees Candidate Christine Parizo discusses how the district can improve future redistricting efforts with Karen Braquet, a CCISD parent whose own children were negatively affected by the district's 2019 school boundary changes.

They discuss the importance of accurate growth projection research, campus facilities conditions, and frequent and early communications with the community, as well as the critical role trustees play in soliciting and sharing parent feedback during the process.
