World War I, know as "THE GREAT WAR" was the deadliest conflict in human history! With 40 million casualties and approximately 24 million deaths. It took its terrible toll on music, with many composers and performers dying in battle or left irrevocably scarred. Some pieces of music were written especially for the cause, while others were the result of despair at the tragedy of it all.

This song was written and composed by Irving Berlin in 1922.

This Piano Roll was acquired from a recent batch of Piano Rolls and purchased as part of my historical music collection.
Some rolls are over 100 years old.
