Jose Abreu may never make the Hall of Fame or lead Cubans in any major counting stats but for many he is considered the best Cuban hitter ever. T
he Chicago White Sox first baseman has been a star since he first debuted in the Major Leagues in 2014. He would take home of the Rookie of the Year award, be named an All-Star and finish fourth in MVP voting.

I first saw him play in Cienfuegos Cuba in 2012 and he would soon make his way to the Majors and has been one of the most productive first baseman ever since. He was putting up incredible offensive numbers and is the only player to slug 30 plus home runs in three consecutive seasons in the Cuban National Series.

The slugger from the Pearl of the South in Cuba has now bookended MVP’s winning the 2010-2011 Award in the Cuban National Series and the 2020 American League MVP.
