This video will demonstrate to you how to use a graduated cylinder to measure volume to the correct number of significant figures. It is important that you are able to measure with the correct precision. This means you must be able to determine the estimated digit if you are using an analog measuring device. The estimated digit is often overlooked, but is absolutely required for a correct measurement to be obtained.

In nursing you will often be required to take measurements. This means that you will be required on a daily bases to take measurements to the correct precision with the correct units. Measuring volume of only one measurement of many that can be done. If you are using an analog device the procedure to obtain the correct number of digits is always the same!
