Two roads diverged in a yellow wood... I am sure you have read the poem. We stand at the crossroads of two Americas. One of them is a very dark place, and one holds greater opportunities than we have ever seen in history.

Unfortunately we have started down the dark path, but unlike in Star Wars, it does not have to dominate our destiny, we can turn back still. If we continue down this dark path we will see everything we have come to expect in life destroyed. We will no longer travel, we will no longer own our destiny. We will not enjoy services as we have. You may not have reliable utilities, you may not even be able to afford them. You will not be able to eat your favorite foods. You may not even be alive, because they don't want people like you and me using up precious resources and polluting what they believe is THEIR beautiful world. We will no longer live in our chosen communities, we will instead be forced into overcrowded urban districts full of filth and disease. I do not want this America.

The other path leads to an America with an incredibly higher living standard for all. In this America we are no longer under the boot of elitists. Incredibly fast communications technologies and automation make it possible for you to live wherever you want, not just where your work is. On days that you do need to go into work you will be able to hop on high speed bullet trains and be there within an hour. We will have self driving cars to take us to the train station and back. Traveling long distances to any point on the globe, be it across the country or around the world, will be possible within an hours time. Electricity will be cheap and abundant thanks to fusion power, which is already patented by the US Navy. Anyone with a computer who has an idea for a new product will be able to put the design up for sale on services like Amazon or Ebay. When purchased, an automated factory will be able to make the product and send it to the purchaser anywhere in the world. We will be closer to our families and communities. This is a future I want to live in, this is a future that is just around the corner, the technology is already here.

The people at the top are trying to stop this bright future from happening, because in that future we would enjoy greater freedom, and they would have less control. They are trying to stop it and cement their control over us permanently. We cannot let them succeed.
