Roberto played for both teams in the Havana capital before making his way off the island to play in multiple professional leagues including in Nicaragua and Canada.

We discuss what playing baseball in Cuba as a kid was like, his ascent to Cuba’s top baseball league and what motivated him to leave Cuba.
