Labels are methods many use to define certain qualities. In the absence of labels and clearly defined terms, it’s possible that conceptual understanding could become quite muddled. Unfortunately, labels have become all too common to political understanding, and that has allowed falsehood to flourish. Terms like conservative, liberal, libertarian, seem like hollow expressions of political positions rather than statements of principles. Mr. Watson explores this issue and provides an antidote for beating pernicious labeling.
