Long Weekend With Lucia

Seven years ago, in 2015, during the Canadian long weekend at the end of May, Lucia made a movie about us cleaning the leaves from our front yard. The film was made in the first year that we moved to Tottenham. Unfortunately, we didn't get to plant that apple that Lucia had promised to plant in her mother's memory. Lucia ate pears from the "wild" pear she speaks of in the film. They weren't wild; they were big, very sweet, and very good. Lucia even made jam out of them. Last year, however, the tree only made some pears that had never ripened. Those pears? Yes, they could be called "wild pears." And this year, the tree didn't make the flowers that Lucia filmed seven years ago.
