Brigadier General Cornelius Jansen Bornman speaks to us about his distinguished career in the South African Army. He started in 1965 in the Army Gymnasium. Sixteen years were in command positions - the last as Commanding General – Special Forces Brigade (1995-1999). He also completed various staff courses which are rated higher than an MBA by me.

In this episode, he talks of the Afrikaner. He explains their background. Where the word “Commando” comes from. The Second Anglo Boer War. Also, the strategic nature of South Africa controlling the Cape of Good Hope Sea Route. Indeed, a fascinating conversation with a senior officer.
