"The Bachelor" host Chris Harrison recently stepped aside after apologizing for defending "historical racism" in a recent interview with Rachel Lindsay for Extra. During that interview, Harrison defended contestant Rachael Kirkconnell after photographs of her appearing at an "Old South" antebellum themed party near a confederate flag surfaced, and after she was accused of sharing a picture of her friend standing near a confederate flag. Shortly after his Extra interview, Harrison was accused of being racially insensitive, to which he immediately apologized and took a hiatus from his hosting position. In that same time period, Kirkconnell also apologized, saying that racism can only be reconciled when focusing on her "whiteness."

Mr. Watson comes forth in defense of Chris Harrison and uses philosophy to analyze the Confederate flag and why aesthetic judgments are terrible for pursuing the truth. He also scorns the cancel culture for, once again, eschewing nuance and attacking people on the basis of their iconoclasm.
