Obviously, we are made up of our chromosomes and they do determine our gender, however, what about our desires, reactions, and thought processes? We here about people choosing lifestyles because they claim to be “born that way.” This way of thinking is quite fatalistic and goes back to ancient times when people were told that their destiny had already been determined by the “gods” Fortunately, the study of epigenetics reveals that we are not merely the product of our genetic makeup. God has extended His grace to us in that we can change and are not enslaved by behavioral or medical traits that may have been passed on through our parents.
