Three’s a Crowd? Adding a Nigerian Dwarf Buck to the Herd.

This is Benji, and he’s the newest member of our GWP goat herd! Benji is a Nigerian Dwarf buck (an intact male). In the future we are going to bring some Nigerian Dwarf does home to the farm and our plan was to eventually add a buck to the herd so we can breed them. However, we did not expect to do this so soon. Adding a buck to the herd brings some interesting challenges with it. Were we prepared to deal with these challenges?

Benji, or Buffalo Bill as he’ll be called on his breeding papers (more on that in a future video), belonged to our neighbors. When they decided they wanted to sell him we jumped at the opportunity to bring him to our farm. Though he’s got a musk about him he’s a cuddly sweetheart and we’re so happy to have him at the homestead.
