Comprehensive Guide to the HillTV's Rising
I cataloged over 1,000 segments of Rising with Krystal and Saagar. Here’s what I learned.
The HillTV's Rising is an "anti-establishment" political news and commentary show hosted by progressive commentator Krystal Ball and conservative commentator, and self ascribed right-wing populist, Saagar Enjeti.
In this profile segment, James dives deep into Rising (including cataloging the show's biases, analyzing Krystal and Saagar's radar segments, and examining the type of guests the bring on) a show with now over 1 million YouTube subscribers, with the goal of answering the following questions:
1. What is Rising, what are the shows biases, and does their coverage actually stay true to the premise of "challenging conventional wisdom and shifting both parties to work in the interest of the working class instead of their current financial masters"?
2. What are the criticism of Rising? James tackles questions like: Is right-wing populism just fascism? Is Saagar a crypto-fascist? Is Krystal an enabler of right-wing fascism? What about the owner of The Hill, Jimmy Finkelstein?
