Biden State Dept: We Don't Support Taiwan Independence

Gordon Chang, author of 'The Coming Collapse of China tells Grant Stinchfield that (at the beginning of May) the State Department fact sheet said: "We do not support Taiwan independence". Then, the State Department took it down. China complained. And the State Department put it back up again."

According to Chang, this "shows you that China is actually determining American policy. And its formulation, the State Department and the Biden administration. So, this shows that (in China's mind) that they can intimidate the United States.They can tell us what to do and what to say. And so that means that deterrents are breaking down."
