Skill of Historical Swordsmen vs Modern Gunmen

I want to start a discussion about what people think is the realistic skill level of historical Swordsmen.

My opinion is that on average most historic swordsman were at a skill level much lower than Competition Sword Fighters today.

I have come to this conclusion based on my observation of the average Gun Person of today. I made a video detailing my observations that I think might be interesting to people here.

I think it is a fair comparison to compare the skill level of modern day gun carrying people to historic sword carrying people, since in both cases losing a fight can mean dying.
