What should you Know before your First Dance Social ?

how many steps to know before social dancing?
I would say if you have taken 2-3 lessons that should be enough.

Know the following:
- Stay on Beat
- Left turn / Right Turn
- Basic Step
- enchufla
- cross body lead
- That's enough basics for a lead to have more than enough to do throughout an entire song

The rest you can figure out as you go. At most socials I've been to, there are some new people who know almost nothing. At least in my area, most people are very welcoming of beginners.

I don't think I could or would want to go an entire social dancing only with advanced dancers, that sounds absolutely exhausting both physically and mentally.

I can tell you it's not about the number of steps you know, it's about having fun and connecting with someone.
