Let's say tonight I'm talking about a man in this room that's above the age of 50. Who would it be? Well, you'd all look around and say “Well, I can see several that would qualify for that specification”. And then I add by saying, “He's wearing a blue shirt”. We would all look around and see two or three that would qualify for that. And then I add to this by saying, “He's got the pair of suspenders on”. Well, that just eliminated everybody but Norm.

When God does definitions in the Bible he will say the same thing three or four or five times in a different way so that, finally, when the identity of what he's talking about is determined, there's no wiggle room left! How clever! And the neat thing about this type of coded language is that superficial students of the Bible can never understand it, because they will read specification numbers four and five and reach a conclusion and know nothing about one, two, and three.

When God lays out these specifications, he does so in the most magnificent way, he pulls pieces from here and pieces from there and finally, they all lock up and there is no wiggle room left. And so those who search the Scriptures, those who constantly are in investigating and looking for the truth that God has to say, find this wonderful harmony continuing to reoccur; and it's the harmony that comes from the sum of the parts that proves the consistency of truth.
