Toyota Corolla Altis 1.8 V Hybrid '20 | Bite Test

The Toyota Corolla is a very well known car whether if it’s from a normie to an ‘Initial D’ fanboy.

But to attract low-profile ’greenies’ afraid of shouting that they drive a Prius, Toyota has debuted a Corolla with a sparkle of Prius tech.

This is the new Corolla Hybrid, marketed globally by the bestselling hybrid manufacturer Toyota. And this vehicle is targeted to the people who want to blend in.

In the Philippines and the rest of Southeast Asia, this car is marketed as the mouthful ‘Toyota Corolla Altis 1.8 V Hybrid.’ Pretty ridiculous in my opinion. This version is also available in Europe as the ‘Toyota Corolla Hybrid Sedan.’

I have driven many hybrid vehicles, although unfortunately not documented. On this very short drive, how does the ‘Rolla perform? Does it act like a Prius with a Corolla shell? Will potential buyers be alienated by this new tech and drivability? I will illustrate this as best as I can!

NOTE:
To my American and Japanese friends, this Corolla may look completely different (cosmetic and packaging) compared to the more aggressive-looking version that the USDM & JDM have.
But mechanically, they're all similar underneath.
