The capuchin monkey's of Misahualli, Ecuador are truly extraordinary. Not only do they light lighters and use them to cook and eat their own fur....they are superstitious as well.
As if monkeys using onion juice as bug repellent wasn't enough, these capuchins seem to believe that it only works if the onions are rubbed in the lap of a human.
One afternoon a friend and attendee of one of our retreats tested this theory, and ended up with a writhing mass of 7 capuchins in his lap, rubbing onions all ever themselves, and peeing all over him. One of the funniest things that I have ever seen in my life.
