Bosque del Apache NWR April 2022

Come along with us as we visit Bosque del Apache National Wildlife Refuge. We were here in April 2022. Dont forget to bring your national
park pass for an inexpensive entry to the area.

There is a very nice Visitor Center located here, with a well stocked gift shop and very nice folks that operate it.

Located at the visitor center is a nice walk trhough garden area where not only can you observe natice plant species but also watch
the birds and other critters enjoying the beautiful space.

Bosque del Apache National Wildlife Refuge is located in San Antonio, Socorro County, New Mexico. Situated between the Chupadera Mountains
to the west and the San Pascual Mountains to the east, the 57,331 acre Bosque del Apache was established in 1939 to provide a critical
stopover site for migrating waterfowl. The refuge is well known for the tens of thousands of cranes, geese, and ducks who winter here each
year. Over 30,000 acres of Bosque del Apache are designated wilderness.

At Bosque del Apache, seasonal wildlife attracts visitors from around the world to participate in wildlife observation,
wildlife photography, and interpretation. Additional opportunities for environmental education, hunting, and fishing may also be
seasonally available.

Bosque del Apache is not just a Wildlife Refuge but also is used to control water so that the enviorment exists for those wildfowl which
frequent the area.
