Alberta program offers gender-affirming voice training

In Alberta, a program is getting attention for helping transgender and gender-diverse people to find the voice they feel matches who they are.

The program works with people to assess their voice and communication characteristics; including pitch, resonance, intonation, loudness, voice quality and articulation. They then work to help those taking part in the program find the voice that works for them.

It's a publicly funded initiative and is seeing a big jump in referrals. As Su-Ling Goh reports, those in the program say it makes them feel more comfortable and confident.
