I don't find much value in following any guru personally, although I have in the past and I did find value to it then, but it was only a stepping stone and once it has served it's purpose it is up to you to find the answers within yourself. Becoming a guru is also a way to stunt your spiritual development. I do not think that Jesus was as much of a guru as people may believe, I think he was a great example to humanity, but the dogma associated with him was added on later on and the "rules" were much more loose. In fact his entire message was that you don't have to sacrifice things to god to make him happy and that god is within. He was more interested in healing people than he was about telling everyone how to live. Those are my psychic insights at least. I do believe he was a real person. I am not a Christian and neither was Jesus. Jesus never said that you need to go to church. The bible was not written by him or god, it was simply inspired by the stories. I hope this does not offend anyone.
