When a concerned parent of a 9th grader in the Charleston area sent this to me, I really didn’t know what to think. I think we should all be concerned with the concepts of Critical Race Theory being taught in schools at all. Why is that? Well, it’s because the concepts propagated within that philosophy turned nearly-universal school curriculum are self admittedly little more than the concepts of Marx, Engels, Stalin, Mao, Chavez, and more, hidden behind the façade of race and intersectionality. It is a concept where there are victims and oppressors, terms like black/trans/poc/etc. have taken the place of the “proletariat” and terms such as white/cis-het/etc. have taken the place of the “bourgeoisie.”
