‘I used to come to this mosque back in the 1980s. The sea level wasn’t this high then. There were houses down there; people lived there’. That’s what a Jakarta resident said about one of his hometown districts, which was enveloped in water.
The water crisis is one of today’s biggest problems as some areas suffer from extreme water shortages, and others risk too much flooding. In addition, the planet’s climate is changing, and with temperatures rising, droughts and hunger loom in Africa and the Middle East.
How can we remedy the situation? Watch the film No Way Back: Water.
