The Gnostics were the leading mystics and shamans of antiquity. They were found in the Mediterranean, Egypt and parts of the Middle East, among others. They have been the subject of the most prolonged and systematic extermination campaign in world history. Thanks only to the discovery of ancient scrolls, there is now some knowledge of the Gnostics' worldview. John Lamb Lash is a mythology scholar, shaman and contemporary Gnostic. He has devoted much of his life to studying and making sense of the most important messages of the surviving text fragments. According to him, the world would have looked very different if the knowledge of the Gnostics had not been exterminated.
