Traffic fatalities are on the rise - is it a crisis?

Secretary Buttigieg announced his National Roadway Safety Strategy that identifies ways to improve highway safety and sets a new federal goal of zero fatalities. According to Buttigieg, zero is the only acceptable number of roadway deaths.

Though maybe unrealistic, the goal sets a proper tone that will drive subsequent policies.
