The Derecho aftermath: June 14, 2022
13
Last night, on June 13, 2022, around 11 pm, we heard very strong winds and saw lightning flashing east of us for about 20-30 minutes straight. We must have been on the edge of the derecho (the one that hit here 20 years ago this month was even worse for our county). I was praying the entire time for protection. I was afraid to look outside this morning, but except for a piece of barn roofing, another rotten branch from the Saturn peach, and some peaches knocked off, you couldn't really tell there was a storm.
Very thankful...I know some people had it much worse with damage and power outages in today's extreme heat.
Stan has been watering the garden again all day--in spite of those fierce winds, we had no rain at all.
