How Data Privacy Might Kill Algorithm Fairness

Society is making great strides to regulate data privacy in an attempt to protect individuals with regulation like GDPR and CCPA. But there could be unintended consequences people should know, namely the fact that lacking personal information could lead to blind algorithms with no way of checking or correcting for bias.

It's important that legislators understand this dilemma and that voters know and value both of these issues so that the right laws are put into place.
