What is the cause of most religious confusion? I believe it comes from pride, we are positive we know, however, The Bible is at odds with our beliefs?

Pro 14:12 There is a way which seems right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death.

How can a person think they are correct and be dead wrong?

Pro 14:14 The backslider in heart shall be filled with his own ways: and a good man shall be satisfied from himself.

Backslider; relapse into bad ways or error, someone who lapses into previous undesirable patterns of behavior. Which we all do everyday?

The Backslider in heart simply doesn't care?

Pro 14:15 The simple believes every word: but the prudent man looks well to his going.
