How Matt Booth Blends | Cigar Education

Let’s talk about an industry bad boy and his approach to blending cigars, Matt Booth of Room101 Cigars.

Also known as “Boofy”, this so called bad boy is actually quite the opposite. Matt is an incredibly driven and creative individual who had already made a positive impact on the cigar industry and continues to do so. His path to getting where he stands is not quite as linear as some others are.

Matt served in the USMC before he moved to LA where he served as a bodyguard for successful business people in the effort to support his dream of making music. Matt was smart, he learned from those he worked for and eventually created his own line of custom jewelry. This started the brand that made his name, Room101. Matt, being the smart man he is, looked for a way to expand his business and remembered his fondness of cigars. Originally using his custom jewelry experience to create custom humidors, he eventually would stumble upon something that would change his path.

On a chance meeting, Matt became partnered with Davidoff Cigars and expanded Room101 into the cigar world, creating Room101 Cigars. Having learned the mechanics of the industry, Matt took a short break until 2017, when he returned and hit the ground running. From then on, Room101 Cigars was independent, releasing beloved cigar lines like Farce, Doomsayer, and Payback.
