Republican Mayra Flores defeated the leading Democratic candidate for an open congressional seat in a historically blue region of South Texas in a Tuesday special election. For over 100 years, Hispanics in this district of dutifully voted Democrat. Does this mean the tide has turned? Or are people overestimating the importance of this victory?
