Ask A Frustrated Nurse # 26

Following up on yesterday's episode 25 The AHA has responded to a request by the FTC regarding Anti-trust rules, used to evaluate hospital purchases. Looks like they want to relax the concerns of competition in a given area. Is the AHA satisfying the major hospital systems to take on hospitals no matter the local situation? Like as in Utah. No concern of monoplies. This would greatly affect the consumer if groups overcharge and balance bills. There would be a limited resource for care and reasonable pricing for hospital-based care and the self-pay or self-funded groups that do care about cost.
